Pale Morning Dun

The PMD is tied to match one of the most consistent hatches on western rivers. When PMD's are hatching, trout become very selective, so having a sleek, clean pattern is important. PMD hatches usually begin in late spring and can last throughout the summer. 

The PMD is very effective for selective trout, and is one of my main summer patterns in the west.

Fish the PMD when small, yellow mayflies are hatching, and fish are fully breaching the surface.
